Are we getting a stimulus check in 2012?

2011 – 50,000 (Fifty Thousand) Dollar Economic Stimulus Check.

The U.S. Economy is in shambles and Capitol Hill scrambles to find an answer to the problem. What can government do in order to stimulate the economy?

First off, trickle down economics doesn’t work. Back in the 80′s it worked. But since we are in a global economy the trickle down money of yesteryear wouldn’t stimulate the U.S. Economy, it would stimulate overpaid CEOs and manufacturers overseas.

What about the government bailout packages for corporations? I don’t think they will work that well. You can give all the money you want to the auto industry, but if people don’t have any money or credit to buy a car, the Automakers are still going to go under.

What is the answer to stimulating the economy? Here is the simplest solution. It’s so easy that the government wouldn’t even consider it.

The swift and prudent action would be to give each middle-class taxpayer a 2011 stimulus check of 50,000 dollars. Yes, $50,000!

This is the 2012 Economic Stimulus Check.

This 2012 stimulus check would stimulate the economy faster than you could shake a stick at it.

So how would the United States Government fund such a economic stimulus check? Easy!

  • You cease to spend tons of money a month in Iraq.
  • The country of Iraq pays the United States for the war in OIL.
  • You cut back on useless Government waste.
  • (Insert your idea in the comment section.)

So how would giving people a 50 thousand dollar stimulus check stimulate the economy? If you give the taxpayers a 50 thousand dollar 2012 stimulus check they will spend. For example, Joe The Plumber gets a check or direct deposit of 50,000 dollars. He goes to Walmart and buys a new Plasma TV. Walmart makes money on the sale, Magnavox makes money because they are selling more TVs and the employees of Magnavox and Walmart are working and making money. Joe the plumber can now watch a Cleveland Browns game and everyone is happy.

Jane, the single mom, just got her 50 thousand dollar 2012 stimulus check. She’s happier than a pig in mud. Jane needs a new car. She doesn’t want to spend her entire 50 thousand dollar economic stimulus check on a new car so she drops 5 grand down on a new GM car and finances the rest. In this example, GM is making and selling cars. GM employees are back to work. Credit is flowing again because the bank loaned Jane money for her car. The guys at the steel mill are making more steel for GM and the vendor that fills the vending machines at the steel mill is happy because people are buying the chips out of his machine.
It’s so simple. If you want to see it visually here is a chart. (Click on the image to enlarge it.)

So there you have it. Money flows, credit flows and most importantly the economy as a whole shifts into high gear all from a 50 thousand dollar a person stimulus check that the government CAN AFFORD.

Don’t like the plan? Like the plan? Comment on it!

10-year-old Gets Ticket For Lemonade Stand

10-year-old Gets Ticket For Lemonade Stand

When I was a kid growing up in the Collinwood area of Cleveland, my brother and I used to set up a Kool-Aid stand and sell cups of it on a hot day. We would sell each cup for a a dime. After making about a dollar, we would run to the store and buy baseball cards, gum, candy and soda.

Well in New York City a 10 year old girl had the same idea. She set up shop in Central Park on a hot day. She charged 50 cents a cup. (New York Prices…sheesh.)

After selling a few cups of lemonade, the department of parks in New York City asked her for a permit, shut her down, ticketed and fined her.

Laws are laws, but building a lemonade stand is a kid’s first taste of capitalism. It’s where a kid can learn that if he works hard, they can be anything they want to be in life. For a kid, capitalism means not having to ask your mom or dad for money. There is nothing wrong with it. It’s part of the American dream.

But in essence, it’s a shame that a kid that wants to make an honest buck, gets dissed by the City of New York.

Maybe she should have sold bluts or dime bags.  After all, it’s New York.

Healthcare is a RIGHT – Why We Need Free Healthcare.

Blood testing in a medical facility in Ethiopia.

I’m one of 47 million Americans that do not have healthcare. I lost my job back in April of 2009. The cost of COBRA was too high and my unemployment checks would not even cover one month’s premium.

Yesterday, I pulled a muscle in my back changing a flat tire. Of course I was a little sore after I changed it. But the next day, the pain was so great that I had pain shooting down the back of my leg. I took 2 Alieve and so far, it’s not working.

I know that if I go the the emergency room that the hospital will not refuse to treat me. But they will not refuse to bill me. I cannot afford a bill. Ohio is only paying me 215 a week in unemployment. How is anyone suppose to live on that?

America is the only industrialized nation that does not take care of it’s people. We take care of other people and we make sure that our oil supply is protected.

We need free healthcare in the United States to protect us from all enemies foreign and domestic like disease.

We need it because there are people who cut pills in half because they can’t afford to buy their medication. It’s sick when we have people in this county who have to decide if they should buy a gallon of milk or get their diabetes medication.

I have seen with my own eyes, people going without necessities so that they can pay a doctor bill or buy a prescription.

Also, there are people illegally obtaining prescriptions right now for blood pressure and other ailments. All because they cannot afford to go to a doctor.

So next time you see your politicians being sworn into office and they say, “I,  do solemnly swear  that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic…” Don’t you think they should defend it’s people’s right to healthcare?

Movies About Cleveland – Filmed Elsewhere

Photo by Brice Burtch, June 24, 2007

Ohio politicians just don’t get the picture. They could make it easy on the film industry but they won’t. Two movies about Cleveland are being produced right now. The Irishman about Mobster Danny Greene in the 70′s and “Ness” a movie about the the Torso Murderer in Cleveland when Elliot Ness was safety director in the city.

The problem…Tax Breaks to film makers.

Back in December of 2008 Governor of Ohio Ted Strickland used his veto power on a bill that would have made it easier to film movies in the state of Ohio.  Because of Strickland’s actions, films about Ohio or Cleveland are being filmed in other locations around the world, even Canada. Of course, the film makers will shoot some stock footage of the state or city and then tape it together in the final product.

Not only is this a revenue loss for the State and Cities, it’s a whopper of a PR loss for the city.

I’m not ashamed of where I live, the people are great. I’m ahamed of the idiots that run this state.

This is more job losses for Ohio and Cleveland.
