Cleveland Florists – Mother’s Day Flowers

When is mother’s day 2012? Mother’s Day is on Sunday, May 13, 2012!!! So if you are in the Cleveland area and need flowers delivered to mom for her special day, you may want to check out this florist in Cleveland.

I’m talking (bragging) about Mayfield Floral. I remember years ago when I was dating a girl I was in a rush to get her mother flowers. I didn’t have a smartphone back then to tell me where the nearest flower shop was on Cleveland’s Eastside. So I drove up and down Mayfield road looking for a florist to get some great mother’s day flowers.

Mayfield Floral

I finally found a flower shop, went in, got a great mother’s day bouquet and took it to my girlfriend’s house and gave it to her mother. Now I’m not good at picking out flowers, but the people at this flower shop in Cleveland help me pick out a nice mother’s day arrangement.

So even though that was years ago, I still remember going to Mayfield Floral in Cleveland. (and of course I’m bragging about them.)

Kudos!!

Check them out and order some flowers for mom. Remember, mother’s day is on Sunday, May 13, 2012!!!

Stimulus Check 2011

I’m not sure I understand my own country.

We give money to big investment companies, banks and car manufacturers. But we do not give money to our own people who are the backbone of the economy. If you give money to a business, more than likely, they will spend the money overseas for cheap manufacturing.  If you give a stimulus check to an American, we will spend that money at home and not overseas to manufacture goods.

We have $3.00 gas right now but it is predicted that gas will be $5.00 a gallon in 2011. Why not give everyone in the U.S. a 2011 stimulus check? Give everyone $10,000. That way people will spend the money on things they need like rent and house payments so we don’t have to bail out the damn banks.   The way this country thinks is ridiculous.

government is set up is so that “We the people” have the opportunity to change it.

I think that our government should bail out the people with a 2011 stimulus check instead of bailing out business who are more risky to give money to than our own people. A 2011 stimulus check could help the people. Screw the banks. They got billions and do not want to loan money. The entire credit system is flawed.

This is why I think all Americans should get a 2011 stimulus check.

2012 Stimulus Checks

If I owned a bakery and didn’t sell any cakes because the people in my neighborhood didn’t have any money…why would the government give me money? Am I going to buy my own cakes? Why not give 2012 stimulus checks to the people so they can BUY my product. It’s absurd that our government gave billions to industries that had trouble selling products because their consumer’s didn’t have any money or credit.

survey

I think the government should strengthen big business and small business. What’s the best way for government to give businesses a big boost?
2012 Stimulus Checks

Give every taxpayer a big fat stimulus check for 20 thousand dollars. Yep, that’s right. $20,ooo. How will this boost businesses?

Giving a 2012 stimulus check to people for 20k would get people to spend.

I know if I had 20 grand, I would be at Best Buy or Walmart right now.

I might even put a down payment on a new car. A smart car.

Giving taxpayers 2012 stimulus checks for 20 thousand…

It would start a spending flow chain. (consumer–> business–> manufacturer–> Employees –> Consumer)

I’m still pissed off that our government gave all that money to automakers.

You can give all the money you want to the butcher, the baker and the candlestick maker, but it’s not going to get consumers to buy their products.

Bailout money and a fat 2012 stimulus check should go to the people.

We, the people, spend.

Why is the economy bad? Because people aren’t spending.

What is your take? How much should the 2012 stimulus checks be a part of the 2012 economy?

Would you want a stimulus check in 2012 for 20 grand?

  • I go to Miami.
  • I stay at home.
  • I want to go to Cleveland for vacation. – That was me. lol
  • I don’t get a vacation.

So there you have it. If you are from Florida feel free to comment below and let me know where you go for vacation.

Do Hotels Take Advantage of Spanish Speaking Workers?

Do big hotel chains take advantage of non-English speaking workers? You bet your clean towel they do.

I have traveled around the country and stayed at a lot of hotels. (I was a Greyhound Bus Driver for years.)

I noticed that when I was staying at big chain hotels, the housekeepers were most always from a Spanish-speaking country. They didn’t know too much English except for the basics. Nothing conversational. While staying at these big chain hotels I would usually start a conversation with the housekeepers. I do speak Spanish.

Spanish Hotel Maids

So how do these big hotel chains actually take advantage of non-English speaking hotel workers? Hotels are able to keep pay low for non-English because most of these workers are scared that they will lose their jobs. They won’t complain or ask thier superiors for an increase in pay. These are minimum wage workers. They work jobs that a lot of people won’t don’t want. But the reason for a hotel to hire a non-English speaker is that they won’t cause any trouble. They will come to work and do their job without questioning anything.  Also, a lot of these housekeepers come from countries where they were making less than a dollar a day. To make minimum wage in this country is a blessing for most of them. But from the information that I have gathered they are being taken advantage of.

I was even told by one of these hotel workers that if they got an application from an English speaking average Jane, they would rip up the application. Why? The housekeepers needed the hours to work. Hiring another worker may spread the work thin. The other reason was that they didn’t want someone to work their that didn’t understand their language.

I tend to believe there is a reason these hotels hire these hardworking people…to keep costs low. I’m all for capitalism , but to take advantage of people that work hard is a shame.

Don’t forget to leaves these housekeepers a tip.

How Bad is the Economy?

There are millions of Americans out of work. Unemployment ran out for over a million people. There is no source of income for these people.

What are they to do if there are no jobs. Not everyone can work at McDonald’s. Even McDonald’s put a freeze on hiring at certain locations.

I hear of some people faking sickness and disability to get Social Security Disability. Yes, that’s right.  Desperate times calls for desperate measures.

There are people going to their local SSI office and twitching, limping, acting depressed, cutting off their own fingers just to feed their families.

This is a sick situation but rather than rob, steal and murder they rather do what they can to put food on the table.

This is America, we are not suppose to be a third-world country.

What is the official language of the United States?

What is the official language of the United States?

I have to keep reminding myself to keep the politics off Facebook and keep it on the Bragger.

You get mad when you are asked to press #1 for English, why? The United States has no official language. Some states have declared that they will only conduct legislative business using English.  However English is not the official language on the United States….either is Spanish, German, Polish or any other language.

People still get mad. Aren’t you forgetting that more than half of the U.S was colonized by Spain at one time?

The U.S. even owns a Spanish-Speaking territory. Puerto Rico. Do Puerto Ricans HAVE to learn English? Of course they don’t.

There is no law in the United States that prohibits anyone from speaking their native language.  Until then….you have the right to choose. Press 1 for English or Press 1 for Spanish.

10 Great Ways to Use Facebook

Some people don’t like Facebook because they just don’t know what to do when they get an account. I have friends that join over a year ago but they don’t contribute to the conversation or they just don’t get it. Here are 10 ways to use Facebook and have fun.

  1. Play some games on Facebook (Mafia Wars, Farmville, Bejeweled)
  2. Join a group. (If you have a hobby or are into a cause, there is a group for you.)
  3. Create a “fan page” for a person, place, thing or even your business

  4. Plan an event and send out invitations. (With the RSVP feature you’ll know how much food to buy.)
  5. Wish someone a happy birthday.
  6. Ask questions. (Have you seen this movie? Can anyone fix a computer?)
  7. Answer questions. (That movie was great. I can fix your computer?)
  8. Share photos, videos and links to great sites you find.
  9. Tag photos
  10. Connect with old friends. It’s cheaper than spending money at classmates.com
