Cleveland Nails the Social Media Scene.

A group of some of the smartest and most intriguing people in a city coming together and collectively writing a book on social media…  Have you ever heard of such a thing? AND IN CLEVELAND??

This is the first time I have seen this and I think that it’s extremely OUTSTANDING!!!

Welcome to Social Media

Welcome to Social Media

Members of the Cleveland Social Media Club put their minds together and created Welcome To Social Media. It’s an amazing guide to help people and businesses comprehend social media.

Welcome to Social Media was created as a place for the Cleveland Social Media Club to share educational materials designed to help individuals and businesses navigate the quickly evolving world of social media. Welcome to Social Media, Volume 1, is the first of what we hope will be many e-books offering social media tips and advice to users of all skill levels. – www.welcometosocialmedia.com

I know you are saying to yourself as you scratch your head, “Well jeepers, how much does it cost?” Well, my fine thrifty friends… it’s FREE. There are no mailing lists, no spam, nothing..NADA. Get the book now dude.

See, as Clevelanders, we love to share. We’ll hold the line up at the grocery store just to tell why we are buying broccoli. Cleveland is the PLACE for Social Media. Social media is perfect for Clevelanders and for any person or business who wants to share. (Hint for Facebook..how about moving your headquarters here to Cleveland.)

If there is a Volume #2…count me in.

Here’s what members of the Cleveland Social Media Club are saying about social media. (I love this video and I’m blatantly going to steal this idea for my next video. I love the use of the twitter profiles in this video.) Speaking of Twitter, follow me if you want http://twitter.com/dailybragger

2009 AST Dew Tour Cleveland

After doing some searching. I found out that the 2009 Dew Tour is skipping Cleveland. Why? No comment or explanation from the Dew Tour site, but you can bet your arse that I won’t be drinking Mountain Dew anymore.

My son and I went to the Dew Tour last year and we had a blast.  We really enjoyed the BMX and Skateboarding. My son got to meet Bob Burnquist and Bucky Lasik. There was so much free stuff to get as well.

But for 2009…it’s a wash. This is another black eye for the city of Cleveland. There were people from all over the county that came to Cleveland to catch the Dew Tour. The Dew Tour was also nationally televised.

So I’m not bragging today. I’m quite pissed.

Movies About Cleveland – Filmed Elsewhere

Photo by Brice Burtch, June 24, 2007

Ohio politicians just don’t get the picture. They could make it easy on the film industry but they won’t. Two movies about Cleveland are being produced right now. The Irishman about Mobster Danny Greene in the 70′s and “Ness” a movie about the the Torso Murderer in Cleveland when Elliot Ness was safety director in the city.

The problem…Tax Breaks to film makers.

Back in December of 2008 Governor of Ohio Ted Strickland used his veto power on a bill that would have made it easier to film movies in the state of Ohio.  Because of Strickland’s actions, films about Ohio or Cleveland are being filmed in other locations around the world, even Canada. Of course, the film makers will shoot some stock footage of the state or city and then tape it together in the final product.

Not only is this a revenue loss for the State and Cities, it’s a whopper of a PR loss for the city.

I’m not ashamed of where I live, the people are great. I’m ahamed of the idiots that run this state.

This is more job losses for Ohio and Cleveland.

Cleveland Ohio – Slowest Drive-Thru Fast Food Restaurants

I’m going to continually update this post every time a fast food place makes me waste gas waiting in line at their drive-thru.

Here’s a partial list. Again, I’ll update this info when one of these places makes me mad.

Burger King – West 110th and Lorain.

-This place is super slow. Don’t even try to order something fast like coffee because you’re going to wait a long time. Also, I saw a shot gun blast in the window of their first window. And they never use that first window.

McDonalds – West 117th near Detroit Road.

-They always have two windows going (one for taking your money, and the other for receiving your food). In the morning they are fast, but in the afternoon when the teenagers come to work, forgetaboutit! You’ll waste 15 bucks in gas just waiting for a kid to get an order of fries right. Not to mention, they’ll screw up on your happy meal and make your 4 year old angry.

Burger King – Brookpark near Tiedman Rd.

-They need some new headphones or something on their speaker system. If you ask for “ham” they ask, “You wanna talk to the MAN?” WTF…lol Slow motion and I think they hire individuals with excessive ear wax.

This list will be updated as soon as I order my son’s next happy meal.
