How Much Does Unemployment Pay? – Costly – I Lost My Job

How Much Does Unemployment Pay? - Costly – I Lost My Job

I lost my job. Don’t feel sorry for me. I was in the technology sector and was underpaid for the amount of skills that I have. I worked hard. I was never late to work and I was employee of the month in less than a year at the company. When State laws were effecting my industry, I helped the owner of the company get signatures on petitions to get an issue on the ballot. I knocked on doors, went to other businesses and busted my but to help out the company. I thought I would grow with this company. We had a great relationship. I loved them and they loved me. I had outstanding productivity.

Jobless

Jobless

I developed ideas and strategies for the business. As time went on, the business stopped listening to its employees (their most valuable resource.) They hired consultants. After they hired consultants, I was hanging on for a year.

I knew I was going to get laid off. It was a matter of time. Especially when the HR guy calls you into his office and tells you straight to your face that “You’re not going anywhere in this company.”

(Yes, I was told that 8 months prior to getting laid off.) See, I’m not an ignorant person. I knew all about the business I was in and I surrounded myself with any and all information about the sector.

Well last Tuesday the HR guy walks in the room and calls me and two other fellow co-workers into a conference room. I knew why were called in the conference room. I was mad and happy at the same time when we were told we were losing our jobs. Mad because I was saying to myself “How could they do this to me? I’m an outstanding worker.” Iwas happy because when they said that they were giving up on thier VOD project, I was saying, “I told you so, I know you should have listened to me.”

Getting laid off was kind of a relief. I knew it was coming. It was just a matter of when. I really did not want to be at that place anymore after the HR guy told me to my face that I’ll never advance in the company. When I was insulted in HR’s office, I prepared myself and built a bunch of websites…from blogs to social networks. (I belong to over 40 social networks and I actually created one of these networks.)

How Much Does Unemployment Pay?

I’m getting 210 dollars a week from unemployment. That’s 840 a month. My cobra insurance is 704 a month. Wouldn’t you think that if you are not working, that insurance would be cheaper. Not! Let’s say that I do get COBRA..how do I pay my bills, rent, feed my kid, put gas in my car…ect?

We’ll I grew  up in an enviroment where when one door closes another door opens. So far the “other” door is ajar.

Why Do We Pay So Many Taxes? A Tax Rebellion

Why Do We Pay So Many Taxes? A Tax Rebellion

The man who predicted the  stock market crash in 1987 and the collapse of the Soviet Union is now predicting revolution in America, food riots and tax rebellions – all within four years, while cautioning that putting food on the table will be a more pressing concern than buying Christmas gifts by 2012.

If you remember your history, America became an independent country because colonists didn’t like all of the taxes they were paying to the crown.

Even if you don’t pay taxes in the U.S….you are still paying taxes. Fill up your tank, buy a pack of smokes, buy a TV or clothes, you are still paying taxes. Why do we pay so many taxes when our county was founded on freedom….freedom from over taxation?

With the status of the economy, I can see a rebellion in the works. Honestly, I think we should go with the fair tax.

Below is a video of Gerald Celente elaborating on his prediction of a tax rebellion.

Celente says that by 2012 America will become an undeveloped nation, that there will be a revolution marked by food riots, squatter rebellions, tax revolts and job marches, and that holidays will be more about obtaining food, not gifts.

“We’re going to see the end of the retail Christmas….we’re going to see a fundamental shift take place….putting food on the table is going to be more important that putting gifts under the Christmas tree,” said Celente, adding that the situation would be “worse than the great depression”.

2009 Stimulus Check – Maybe not. How about 13 dollars a week.

A 2009 Stimulus Check. How about a reality check.

I read this article from Yahoo News. Click here for the original article.

WASHINGTON – Millions of workers would soon see an extra $13 in their weekly paychecks and thousands of small businesses operating in the red could get tax refunds under the economic recovery bill nearing completion in Congress.

Do you really want an extra 13 dollars in your check? 13 dollars a week won’t fill up gas tank. I cannot believe how little of a tax break I’m going to get from the Obama administration. I voted for you President Obama. I was hoping that I would get more than 13 dollars a week extra in my pay check.

This won’t do anything but stimulate my gas tank. Well, 1/2 of it. Some stimulus for 2009.

So in essense, how much will we get for the 2009 stimulus check? How about 13 dollars a week if you are lucky.

2009 Stimulus Check – Among Other Things

Fear

Fear

Amazing. It’s been a while since I last posted. Sorry for such a delay.

Here’s what I have been up to.

  • I have been working on some new websites.
  • I have been battling a painful sinus infection.
  • I’m trying to shed some weight before my brother’s wedding.
  • Cleaning up this website.

I had almost 300 comments on my post about the 2009 stimulus check. It was slowing down the time it takes to load the webpage so I cleaned up most of the comments.

It looks like president Obama’s Stimulus Plan will pass and he’ll be signing the bill soon. I’m all for tax cuts but for the amount we are going to spend you could give everyone in the WORLD a 1600 dollar check.

A tax break for me would be an extra 8 bucks a check. That’s sucks.

Instead of getting 8 bucks every two weeks how about giving everyone a 2009 stimulus check for 50 thousand dollars. Wouldn’t that make better sense.

I know that there are going to be people out there that say this would cause inflation. But tell me, how do you know it would cause inflation? Have you received a 50 thousand dollar 2009 stimulus check yet?

Like many of you out there, I’m worried about my job. Why would I be worried? Well, first of all, I see how bad this economy is getting. Unemployment is growing at an alarming rate and businesses of all types are suffering.

The second reason why I fear for my job is because when I say hi to my bosses, they haven’t been saying hi back to me lately. It seems as if everyone is depressed and down in the dumps, no wonder why they call this shit a depression.

2009 Stimulus Check

2009 Stimulus Check

The third reason why I feel like my job is at stake is because I haven’t been rewarded for outstanding work in a very long time. I bust my ass at work and I’m totally productive.  I’m never late to work. (I hate being late and I think tardiness is a sign of laziness.) I’m the type of person that can learn a new job in minutes or come up with a productive idea.

Now, I could go on some more. But I won’t. That would be BRAGGING.

Do you sense that things may be going wrong at your job? Vent it out by leaving a comment.

Go Obama – Yes We Can. – 2009 Stimulus Package

A day after celebrating his historic inauguration, President Barack Obama spent his first full day in office instituting policies that “represent a clean break from business as usual.”

The Obama administration announced salary freezes for White House employees making over $100,000 a year, placed new limits on lobbyists’ White House access and had aides circulate a draft executive order that would close the detention center at Guantanamo Bay within a year.

Now, I don’t know about closing “Gitmo” but he’s doing good for the first day on the job.

Okay, I know I like to dream big.

To this day, I still believe that in order to stimulate the economy, car manufactures and housing markets, you have got to put some big dollars into the hands of the American People.

Taxes – Refund Anticipation Loans – RAL

You have seen the commercials. “Do your taxes here and get your refund in minutes.” Not so fast now. A friend of mine went to a popular tax service to get up to a thousand dollars based on their 2009 estimated tax refund. My friend was getting back almost 5,000 dollars. Excited and happy that this was their estimated tax refund, my friend couldn’t wait to get a thousand dollar refund anticipation loan. My friend, who had Good Credit Is Badgood credit didn’t qualify. They didn’t even qualify for a 50 dollar refund anticipation loan.

So what was the problem? The problem is that the bank that issues the RAL or refund anticipation loan tightened the restriction on getting the loan. That means that the thousands of people that want to get refund anticipation loans are going to get denied because of the current economic situation.

The banks just got a 750 million dollar bailout but they don’t want to loan out any of that money. I think they are sitting on the interest.

So if you plan on getting a refund anticipaion loan from your favorite tax preparer, don’t get too excited. If my friend has good credit and couldn’t get one of the easiest loans, then you probably won’t get one either.

The only places offering any loans, believe it or not, are payday loan establishments.

2009 Stimulus Checks, Cries for Help and Other Brags

2009 Stimulus Check – Update

A couple of months ago, I wrote an article about how the government could stimulate the economy. The solution to the economic crisis was to give each taxpayer a 50 thousand dollar 2009 stimulus check. The comments on the 2009 Stimulus Check article were amazing. If you ever get a chance, read them. some of the comments are cries for help. People are in bad shape because of the economy, while banks and big businesses get billions. I haven’t heard anything about Congress getting taxpayers together on Capitol Hill to find out what they need to be bailed out. Big business can afford lobbyists, We, The People, don’t have lobbyists.

I’m not against big business, I’m just against government putting their hands on businesses. The role of government is to protect it’s taxpaying citizens.

Olmsted Falls School District Wants a Bailout

Line up people. Banks, car makers and your local schools want a bailout.

Olmsted Falls Superintendent Todd Hoadley said Tuesday that if automakers and big U.S. cities can ask for federal bailout money, schools should be able to follow suit. The district submitted the request to Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson and the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland.

Well heck, I want a bailout too. Where do I line up? I went on the U.S. Treasury’s website to look for the application, but I could not find it anywhere.

The solution to the problem is to start from the roots. Give each person a 50 thousand dollar 2009 Stimulus Check and it would help the banks, the auto industry and the schools.

It would also help me!!

Are we headed for a depression?

Personally, I don’t think we are headed for a depression. If the government can act quickly to find a way to stimulate the economy, the I don’t see a depression in the windshield. However, if you watch the network news and listen to radio shows like Glen Beck, you’ll think that the sky is falling. I was listening to the Glen Beck

show on WTAM in Cleveland and I turned it off. Mr. Beck’s show has been nothing but depressing and full of fear. I felt like I was listening to 1950′s government propaganda about a Soviet Invasion.
