ATM Dispute Solved in 15 Minutes By Local Businessman

If you want to be treated with dignity, respect and get fuel in the process, visit Gas Way in Cleveland at the corner of Jasper St and West 105 (Bellaire).

It was just before 7am on a very cold morning in Cleveland. Freezing rain covered my car. I was on my way to the gas station before going to work.

I went inside the gas station to take 40 dollars out of the ATM. I swiped my card, punched in my code and attempted to get 40 bucks. The screen said “process error” then spit out a receipt. I swiped my card again and the same thing was displayed on the screen “process error.” I figured the freezing rain was effecting the link between the ATM and my bank so I decided to purchase my gas with my ATM card.

The cashier took my card and swiped it through the machine behind his counter. The transaction went through. I pumped the gas and was on my way to work.

Out of curiosity, I looked at the purchases on my ATM card (via my computer) and noticed I had a 40 dollar charge from the gas station. “Oh shit!” I said to myself, “It was that ATM at the gas station.”

I waited a couple of days to see if the transaction would be canceled and credited back to my account. The 40 dollars and fees posted about 36 hours later.

I went back to Gas Way two days later and talked to the owner. His name was Abe. I showed him the receipts from the ATM machine and explained the situation to him. He checked his records against my receipts. Both my receipts said “Unable to process Transaction at this time.”  However his records said that the ATM dispensed 40 dollars to me on the day in question.

He gave me his phone and I called tech support for the ATM company. Tech support told me to file a claim with my bank. (I already knew that this process can take weeks, even months or years.

Banks are in a very bad situation right now. That is a whole other story.

Gas Way 12-20-2008Anyway, I handed the phone back to Abe. He talked to tech support for a minute or two.

After Abe hung up the phone with the ATM company, he reached into his pocket and gave me 40 dollars plus the fee. NOW THAT IS CUSTOMER SERVICE AND BEING A GREAT BUSINESSMAN.

I don’t care if the price of gas jumps to 4.00 a gallon again. I’m going to support this local business. Gas Way’s fuel is always reasonably priced and usually the lowest priced in my neighborhood.

As a thank you to Abe for taking care of the ATM dispute situation, I told him I was going to post an entry on this blog. So thank you Abe. I wish there were more businessmen like you that knew how to take care of their customers.

Visit Gas Way in Cleveland. Support this business.

2009 New Year’s Resolutions

New Years Resolutions – 2009 – How to keep your resolutions.

It’s almost a new year and you are going to commit to lose weight, quit smoking or become a better person. The problem is that you’ll do well for two weeks before you give up.

There are ways to combat the lack of motivation. In fact there is  something you can do right now that is so easy to help you loose weight. No, it’s not a pill, a fad diet or anything like that. It’s blogging.

It’s a simple concept. If you blog about your weight loss there are people who are going to be cheering for you. It’s human nature to do things out of the avoidance of embarrassment and failure. For example, the next time you overeat at a restaurant, stand up on your chair and yell “I’m a fat pig and I overate tonight.” Guess what? Do you think that you will over eat again?

Get yourself a blog at wordpress.com or blogger.com. It’s free and easy to do.

In fact, I’m going to blog about weight loss too. I need to lose weight and I know that there are people out there that will motivate me, cheer me and look at my blog for great tips. I’d post my weight on my blog once a week and put a picture of myself on there each week.

You won’t feel as if you are going at it alone. There are millions of people out there with the same resolutions as you have. If you write about how you feel you’ll discover a great outlet.

You don’t’ have to be a great writer and there is always spell check.

Also don’t forget that there is still time left to win an Escalade from the Daily Bragger.

Do you have resolutions? What are you going to do for 2009? Are you going to blog about your resolutions?

Starting a Blog is Easy With a Little Help.

There are two names in the blogging world that have helped me the most when it comes to learning awesome techniques that I have used in this blog.

Yaro Starak and Gideon Shalwick from BecomeABlogger.com have finally released their highly anticipated new report. It’s called…
The Roadmap To Become A Blogger

Or simply…”The Roadmap”

If you’re ready to claim your own copy now, just go here (it doesn’t cost a thing):

Become A Blogger Free Videos & Report

I have read the report and I use a lot of their techniques on The Daily Bragger.

If you’re new to blogging and still trying to figure out what exactly you’re supposed to be doing with your blog, this may be the most important report you’ll read all year!

The Roadmap report covers two key concepts:

1. The step-by-step “formula” that Yaro Starak used to create his six figure income blog

and very importantly…

2. Thirteen X-Factor strategies that you can implement immediately to put your blog into superdrive!

Inside this amazing new report, you’ll discover…

- How to ethically exploit the biggest wave in technology since the invention of the telephone…

- How Yaro and Gideon stumbled upon the “X-Factor” For Blogging Success, and how it turned upside down everything they thought they knew about blogging…

- Why not deploying the “X-Factor” in your blog could cause your blog to crash and burn, never to recover…

Become A Blogger Free Videos & Report

Yaro and Gideon really know what they’re talking about when it comes to blogging.

For example, as I’m writing this blog post, there has already been over 63,000 downloads of their complimentary videos on their site!

That’s enough proof to me that whenever Yaro and Gideon speaks, hordes of people stop what they’re doing, and listen.

Also, it’s no secret that Yaro Starak makes a very comfortable living from his blog…in October of 2008 alone he made over $70,000!

Just imagine…

You can learn from a blogging superstar like Yaro within a few minutes without paying a cent – it really is priceless!

Teaming up with Gideon Shalwick, Yaro’s been able to leverage his knowledge with Gideon’s clear and easy-to-follow presentation skills, and knowledge of social media and upcoming online trends.

Together, these factors combine for an explosively powerful environment for learning how to blog successfully.

But really, you should read the report for yourself. It will open your eyes to opportunities you never thought possible…

Here it is again:

Do You Tweet?

Do you use Twitter?

First of all, do you know what Twitter is? If not, you are missing the boat. Twitter is a free service and social network for friends, family, and co–workers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing?

Rarely, people answer this question when using Twitter. They’ll post new found links, blog posts, and

questions. I use twitter for all of the above. Questions are the best, because you’ll get an answer that is faster and more concise than using Yahoo Answers. Believe me, the answers are concise, you only get 140 characters to type on Twitter. You could even call it micro-blogging.

You can even use Twitter with your cell phone. You can send a text and it will post it to Twitter.

Twitter is still a baby. The uses for Twitter are limitless.

On Twitter, you add friends just like you do with most social sites. You type a keyword in the search box and follow people.

When I first started using twitter, I typed “Cleveland” in the search box. I wanted to connect with people from Cleveland so that if I got bored on a Friday night, I could find something to do.  I have found great restaurants, blogs and knowledge from Twitter. I even found out the other night that there is an Ethiopian restaurant in Cleveland. (UNICEF and Live Aid really helped.)

During hurricane season, I was getting first-hand accounts of the storms from my friends down south. When their power went out, they used their cell phones to give everyone updates.

There are all kinds of applications on myspace and facebook you can use with Twitter as well.

I use a Mozilla Add-On called Twitter Fox for my Tweeting.

So head over to Twitter.com and get an account. It’s free. (I love free.) Use it, and if you don’t like it, get rid of it. But I’m sure that once you use it, you’ll like it.

Do you use Twitter? Do you have anything to add? Leave a comment below and feel free to add to the discussion.

Auto Bailout Will Put Automakers Out of Business

The U.A.W. could have helped the auto industry. Instead, the auto industry went to Washington to get a bailout at the taxpayers expense. I don’t want my taxes going to help a business that was poorly managed and that has a greedy union. Because the auto industry is getting 15 billion of our tax dollars, I’m sure that Americans are going to retaliate.

How are Americans going to retaliate against the automakers and the autoworkers? That’s easy to answer. They’ll never buy another car made by these guys. When people go to the lot to buy a new car, they are going to make their choice based this bailout.

YOU CAN GIVE ALL THE MONEY IN THE WORLD TO THE AUTOMAKERS, BUT THAT WILL NOT GET ANYONE TO BUY A CAR.

That 15 billions should have gone to the taxpayers so that we could buy GM or American cars.  Who is going to really buy a car from a company that is mismanaged? GM has been loosing money for two reasons. 1. Nobody want to buy their cars. 2. The greed of the union squeezes every nickel they can out of the corporation

I have a strong feeling that GM is going to go under. They are eventually going to either file bankruptcy or close it’s doors forever unless the union takes a cut.  75 dollars an hour to put a screw into a bumper on the assembly line is ridiculous. Don’t get me wrong, I would love to make that kind of money for that kind of job but I wouldn’t want the company that I work for to go under because I’m making too much money.

I just don’t get it. If I have bad credit, I can’t get a loan, especially from the government. Why should these automakers get a huge loan when they are about to fail, go under and close up the shop.

I really don’t want anyone to loose their jobs, but if our government is going to bailout company after failing company, why don’t they fork over the cash to the American people and we’ll buy the cars, houses, TV, and any thing else we can to stimulate our economy.

If the answer is too easy, our government won’t see it.
