Black Friday White Saturday

On Black Friday

Is it really worth it to camp out all night in front of a Best Buy just to get that mp3 player for 25 bucks? Do you really think that person who camped out bought it as a Christmas gift for someone? I don’t think so. Was it worth a life to bash down the doors at Walmart and trample all over a person just to get something for a low price? I don’t think so. People get serious about Black Friday deals. I’ll stick with Ebay and Amazon.

On A Happier Note

On Saturday, my family and I went to Winterfest 2008 in downtown Cleveland.

Bailout Bailout Bailout Government Bailout

Bailout Bailout Bailout Government Bailout

I’m really sick of hearing and reading the word “bailout.” It’s all over the TV, internet and on the back of buses in Cleveland. (Oh wait, the buses are advertising a different bailout.)

The Big Three

The Big 3 CEOs

Companies fail. There is no doubt about that. It’s a part of capitalism. Mismanage a company and your competitor takes over.

It’s time for businesses, like the auto industry, to reinvent the wheel.

People got sick of reading in the dark, so the light bulb was invented. People go sick of riding horses so the train and the automobile were invented.

Wise up America. We cannot let our money go to support the auto industry. What are they going to do with all of that money?  They are going to buy foreign steel, or invest it overseas. You can give billions to the auto industry, but it’s not going to make people like you and me buy their cars.

Give billions to the people. Contact your Representative.

What Is The Easiest Way To Set Up A Blog With Your Own Domain Name?

What Is The Easiest  and Cheapest Way To Set Up A Blog With Your Own Domain Name?

I get asked this question all the time. Some of my friends think that you have to have all kinds of technical knowledge to start a blog or a website.  Actually, you don’t need a bunch of technical knowledge or a ton of money.

The easiest way that I know how to set up a blog or a website with your own domain for little money is to follow these simple steps.

  • Get a domain name or web address.
  • Get hosting.
  • Get going.

There is one site I know of where you can set up a blog with the click of the mouse and that’s at . I went through GoDaddy to make this website. If you go to , you can get your domain name, set up the web hosting and then if you look under “Applications,” you can install the latest WordPress format.  WordPress is a state-of-the-art publishing platform with a focus on aesthetics, web standards, and usability. WordPress is both free and priceless at the same time.  WordPress is what you use when you want to work with your blogging software, not fight it.

Sure there are other blogging or website platforms, but once you get into using wordpress for blogging you’ll be amazed at how easy it really is to blog or launch a website.

So how much would it cost to start up a website for cheap?

Depending on what kind of domain you want. It could cost you as little as 1.99 USD. So for less than a cup of hard-to-pronounce starbucks coffee, you could have a domain name. Then for the hosting, it’s as little as 6.95 a month. You can even use paypal with GoDaddy.

Now you know the easiest and cheapest way to start a blog with your own domain name.

So what are you waiting for?

Get crack-a-lackin!!!

If you use wordpress or GoDaddy and you think it’s cheap and easy, let me know by commenting. I would love to hear your success stories.

New and Improved with Comment Luv and Other Stuff.

I’m writing this while experiencing a bad cold. (The whole 9 yards..fever, sore throat, coughing and sinuses.)

So you might have noticed a few changes.

Yeah, I gave The Daily Bragger a makeover. I’m one of those people that love to create and update things. I’m never satisfied with what I create and I’m always improving things.

One of the major changes I made was adding a little popup when you first load this site. Don’t worry, you shouldn’t see this again for a while. It’s to help me combat comment spam. I was getting a lot of spam after I wrote about allowing search engines to “follow” the links in the comments. I had everything from Viagra to reciepes from Mougdishu. So  you’ll see the popup once and then never again, unless I have some breaking news or opinion.

Another BIG improvement is that I am using Comment Luv. Comment Luv is an application that I’m using in the comment section of my blog. If you have a blog and you leave a comment, Comment Luv will link to your last post. Give it a try.

2009 Stimulus PaymentBig Time Web Traffic

Thanks to my Stimulus Check post, I have been getting major traffic to this site. I’m hoping that Obama and Capitol Hill will build on my idea. (How else are we going to save the auto industry from certain plight.)

So what do you think?

Do you like the new look? What do you think about the popup and Comment Luv?

How To Upload Your Videos To Many Sites At Once.

How To Upload Your Videos To Many Sites At Once.

If you’re not incorporating video into your blog or website, you are really missing out. A simple how-to video can get your blog thousands of hits a day.

I use video to promote my blog, send video to my family and for hobby. I use many different sites to host my videos. If you are going from video site to video site in order to upload your videos, you are wasting some valuable time.

About a year ago, I was getting sick of uploading videos to Youtube and then going to another site to upload that same video again. It was taking a lot of time to put my video on other sites. Then I discovered Tubemogul. TubeMogul is a free service that provides a single point for deploying uploads to the top video sharing sites, and powerful analytics on who, what, and how videos are being viewed.

Tubemogul has saved me precious time by uploading my videos to many sites at one time.

Here is a video on how to upload your videos to many sites at once.

Follow or No Follow?

Just a Daily Bragger update. I made my comments available to the search engines by removing the no-follow. No follow means that the search engines won’t pick up on any links in the comments. But since I believe that every blogger or website should get the proper credit as far as links are concerned, I made my comments available to the search engines. So please feel free to comment and leave your link.

Thanks.

Voting Problems in Ohio – Caught on Tape

Voting Problems in Ohio
(Cleveland – Dailybragger.com) I took my mp3 player into the polling place where I have been voting for over three years. I recorded a problem I encountered voting.

I brought my ID to vote, but was almost turned away because the address on my ID doesn’t match my voter registration.

The Ohio Secretary of State’s website says that I need to bring an ID to vote. However, it states that my address on my license does not have to be current.

“A current and valid photo identification (i.e. Ohio driver’s license, state ID card, government ID). Photo identification must show name and address (does not need to be current address for driver’s license or state id card)”

At the end of the video, I talk to a Fairness in Voting Representative.

Anyway here is the video and audio of what happened. Enjoy the video. (The Short version goes straight to the point without an intro.)
