Cash for Clunkers  – Car Destruction

Cash for Clunkers may stimulate the pockets of GM and other auto makers but what about the poor guy that doesn’t have a car to get to work?

The cars in the Cash for Clunkers program must be destroyed. Why?

There are some people who have bad credit and are unable to get a car loan to take advantage of cash for clunkers.

There are some people that don’t have a car.

Instead of destroying these Cash for Clunkers trade-ins, I think that they should provide some of these cars to people that need a car to get to work.  This would also help stimulate the economy.

Cash for Clunkers reminds me of a story my father told me. My dad was working on a farm when he was a kid growing up in Friendsville, Maryland. The government used to force farmers to pour thousands of gallons of milk down the drain just to keep the price of milk high.

More governtment waste.

I wish they would give a Cash for Clunker car to someone who needs it instead of destroying it.

My Uncle Richard Marzi Lost His Battle With Pancreatic Cancer

I’m not looking for sympathy. I just want you to know about a remarkable man who lost a battle to cancer.

My uncle Richard “Dick” Marzi lost his battle to pancreatic cancer on Father’s day June 21nd, 2008 around 8pm.

My uncle Dick was a great man. Whenever the family got together for holidays he always gave you a hearty welcome. I can hear him now, “Heyyyyy! There’s Tom! How ya doing Tom.” as a handshake ensued.

An all around nice guy who didn’t smoke or drink, my Uncle Dick was one inquisitive individual. He always wanted to Richard "Dick" Marziknow what you were up to and didn’t miss a word when you talked to him. Even if you had the most boring  job in the world,  he would always want to know more about it.  He always wanted to know more about you even when he knew you already. And if you met him for the first time, just give him 5 minutes and you felt like you knew him for a lifetime.

He had an amazing sense of humor. He could find humor in anything with his great jokes. If he knew you were taking a picture of him, he’d make a face.

He never aged. Ever since I could remember my Uncle Dick, he always looked the same. I think that I aged more in 10 years than he aged in 67 years…and I’m 36.

He was a wonderful husband to my Aunt Faith and and outstanding Father to my cousins Adam and Beth.

I will miss my Uncle Dick dearly. He was a soldier in the fight against cancer. If you have ever lost someone to cancer please feel free to comment. Even leave your relative’s name in the comment.

My cousin Adam Marzi has created a website to raise money for the American Cancer Society. He created the site www.DoItForDick.org in honor of his father.  Donate a dollar if you could. If you can’t donate, feel free to put a link on your site to  http://www.doitfordick.org Even if you retweet this post, at least it will spread the word.

How Much Does Unemployment Pay? – Costly – I Lost My Job

How Much Does Unemployment Pay? - Costly – I Lost My Job

I lost my job. Don’t feel sorry for me. I was in the technology sector and was underpaid for the amount of skills that I have. I worked hard. I was never late to work and I was employee of the month in less than a year at the company. When State laws were effecting my industry, I helped the owner of the company get signatures on petitions to get an issue on the ballot. I knocked on doors, went to other businesses and busted my but to help out the company. I thought I would grow with this company. We had a great relationship. I loved them and they loved me. I had outstanding productivity.

Jobless

Jobless

I developed ideas and strategies for the business. As time went on, the business stopped listening to its employees (their most valuable resource.) They hired consultants. After they hired consultants, I was hanging on for a year.

I knew I was going to get laid off. It was a matter of time. Especially when the HR guy calls you into his office and tells you straight to your face that “You’re not going anywhere in this company.”

(Yes, I was told that 8 months prior to getting laid off.) See, I’m not an ignorant person. I knew all about the business I was in and I surrounded myself with any and all information about the sector.

Well last Tuesday the HR guy walks in the room and calls me and two other fellow co-workers into a conference room. I knew why were called in the conference room. I was mad and happy at the same time when we were told we were losing our jobs. Mad because I was saying to myself “How could they do this to me? I’m an outstanding worker.” Iwas happy because when they said that they were giving up on thier VOD project, I was saying, “I told you so, I know you should have listened to me.”

Getting laid off was kind of a relief. I knew it was coming. It was just a matter of when. I really did not want to be at that place anymore after the HR guy told me to my face that I’ll never advance in the company. When I was insulted in HR’s office, I prepared myself and built a bunch of websites…from blogs to social networks. (I belong to over 40 social networks and I actually created one of these networks.)

How Much Does Unemployment Pay?

I’m getting 210 dollars a week from unemployment. That’s 840 a month. My cobra insurance is 704 a month. Wouldn’t you think that if you are not working, that insurance would be cheaper. Not! Let’s say that I do get COBRA..how do I pay my bills, rent, feed my kid, put gas in my car…ect?

We’ll I grew  up in an enviroment where when one door closes another door opens. So far the “other” door is ajar.

Voting Problems in Ohio – Caught on Tape

Voting Problems in Ohio
(Cleveland – Dailybragger.com) I took my mp3 player into the polling place where I have been voting for over three years. I recorded a problem I encountered voting.

I brought my ID to vote, but was almost turned away because the address on my ID doesn’t match my voter registration.

The Ohio Secretary of State’s website says that I need to bring an ID to vote. However, it states that my address on my license does not have to be current.

“A current and valid photo identification (i.e. Ohio driver’s license, state ID card, government ID). Photo identification must show name and address (does not need to be current address for driver’s license or state id card)”

At the end of the video, I talk to a Fairness in Voting Representative.

Anyway here is the video and audio of what happened. Enjoy the video. (The Short version goes straight to the point without an intro.)

Beer Review –

It’s that time of year when beer companies and microbreweries come out with their “special” fall ales. Here in this video, I give Jack’s Pumpkin Spice Ale a try.

Jack’s Pumpkin Spice Ale will be available for a limited time until mid-December, with a winter brew to follow in January, a spring brew in April and a summer brew in July. It is available at bars and clubs across the country and has 5.5 percent alcohol by volume.

Should I Withdraw My 401k? – So You Ask.

Should you withdraw your 401k during the turbulent time in the stock market? The answer is no!

You might be looking at your 401k statement and panicking. Don’t panic. Don’t even look at that statement. Throw it out. When the stock market is is down like it is now, you should contribute MORE money to your 401k. Stock will be at an all-time low and you’ll be getting stocks at a steal. This is your time to take advantage of the low stock prices.

Believe me, I started to look at my 401k statement but then before I could really examine it, I tossed it. See, I’m a lower middle class guy. I don’t have millions of dollars invested in my 401k.

The people who are really going to take a hit from the stock market are the big guys who have millions in the stock market bought on margin. Margin trading is when you borrow money from a broker to buy stock in hopes it will go up. If you buy on margin and the stock drops there are two big losers. The big losers are the banks that loaned the investor the money to buy stocks and the investor who lost money on the the stock plunged. If the investor is unable to pay back the money that he was loaned that is a double whammy. This is one of the factors that may have contributed to the great depression. There were too many borrowers and nobody was able to pay back the loans they go to either invest in the market.

If you are middle class, like me, you don’t buy stocks on margin. Your 401k is managed by a brokerage firm. Their job is make the best deals to make your funds grow.

But you can do your part, increase the amount you contribute to your 401k. Sure the stock market might even drop further, when it does, contribute more to your 401k again. When the market increases and gets back on its feet, you’ll thank yourself.

There Are Some People That I Wish Would Never Die.

Sorry for such a morbid post. Today, I read that Paul Newman died.

That sucks. I’m in my mid 30′s and there are some people in my life that you never want to hear about dying. Of course my family is first. I don’t want to hear about a relative dying. But there are some icons in pop culture that you never want to hear that died. Here is my list.

1. Michael J. Fox - I grew up watching him on “Family Ties.” I loved him in “Back to the Future.” He’ll always be Alex Keaton to me. I never want to hear about him dying.

2. Clint Eastwood – Who wants to hear about this cat dying. He’s a total iconic figure. He’s the guy that you never wanted to see age. Even though he has a few wrinkles, I still picture him as Dirty Harry.

3. David Letterman – I love watching Letterman. His comedy is funny. I grew up watching him. He’s aged, but I still enjoy watching him. I like his interview style. I have been watching him for years, and I’ll continue to watch him for years to come.

Well, these are my top 3. I can’t think of any more off the top of my head. Perhaps you have a list of people who shouldn’t die.

Feel free to leave a comment if you have a list.

Undecided Voter – The Daily Bragger Rant.

I started this video with a soft and nice tonality. Then when I got to talking more, it became a rant. Who feels the same?  Do you? I’m pissed at both candidates because they both don’t wet my whistle. I want to see more money pumped into this country than in countries that we occupy or deal with on a daily basis. I can’t believe that we deal with China. We have an embargo on Cuba, but we still deal with China. China could walk into this country and take it over. I’m not talking militarily, I’m talking monetarily.

If you like or don’t like the video, I want to hear from you. I want to know what you think.  Please vote in the November election. If you don’t vote, don’t complain about who is President.

WTAM Gary The Numbers Guy

Gary the numbers guy is considered one of America’s premiere numerologists.

Are you looking for a  numerology reading? Do not contact the author of this site if you want a reading.
There are few people who know how to read numbers. Gary the numbers guy is one of these few people. He knows Gary The Numbers Guyhow to use numbers to examine the future. He has documented predictions on a radio show in Cleveland. He predicted the fall of the U.S. dollar and the rise in the Euro. He’s made many investors a ton of cash on the exchange market.

One of his predictions posted on his myspace bulletin reads,

I have done all I could to spread the truth. Now that the Dollar is about to default and WW3 is right around the corner. I will say this , Make it to 2013 ( the year of the Snake) Alive. If you do that , we will take this Planet back. China and the Illuminati are to strong to fight now. That will change , when it does. look for sign called KV or 11/22.
That is when we make our move, trust me”

I have heard all the fakes on the infomercials and Miss Cleo commercials. However, Gary the numbers guy is the only one to make accurate predictions using his talents for numbers.

The history of numerology is somewhat cloudy with no definite answer as to where it first originated. Egypt and Babylon are recognized as the earliest recorded history of numerology by the majority of numerologists. It was here that the Chaldean system was developed under the influence of the Hebrews. There is also evidence of the use of numerology thousands of years ago in China, Rome, Japan and Greece. The credit for modern numerology, however, is most often given to the Greek philosopher Pythagoras.

Pythagoras was born is Greece around 590 BC and was one of the best known philosophers of his day. If his name sounds familiar it is likely because you were taught his theories in high school geometry class. He was a very important figure in the development of mathematics, although little is known about his true achievements.

Today, numerology is often associated with the occult, alongside astrology and similar divinatory arts. The term can also be used for those who, in the view of some observers, place excess faith in numerical patterns, even if those people don’t practice traditional numerology.
