Are we getting a stimulus check in 2010?

2010 – 50,000 (Fifty Thousand) Dollar Economic Stimulus Check.

The U.S. Economy is in shambles and Capitol Hill scrambles to find an answer to the problem. What can government do in order to stimulate the economy?

First off, trickle down economics doesn’t work. Back in the 80’s it worked. But since we are in a global economy the trickle down money of yesteryear wouldn’t stimulate the U.S. Economy, it would stimulate overpaid CEOs and manufacturers overseas.

What about the government bailout packages for corporations? I don’t think they will work that well. You can give all the money you want to the auto industry, but if people don’t have any money or credit to buy a car, the Automakers are still going to go under.

What is the answer to stimulating the economy? Here is the simplest solution. It’s so easy that the government wouldn’t even consider it.

The swift and prudent action would be to give each middle-class taxpayer a 2010 stimulus check of 50,000 dollars. Yes, $50,000!

This is the 2010Economic Stimulus Check.

This 2010 stimulus check would stimulate the economy faster than you could shake a stick at it.

So how would the United States Government fund such a economic stimulus check? Easy!

  • You cease to spend tons of money a month in Iraq.
  • The country of Iraq pays the United States for the war in OIL.
  • You cut back on useless Government waste.
  • (Insert your idea in the comment section.)

So how would giving people  a 50 thousand dollar stimulus check stimulate the economy?  If you give the taxpayers a 50 thousand dollar 2010 stimulus check they will spend.  For example, Joe The Plumber gets a check or direct deposit of 50,000 dollars. He goes to Walmart and buys a new Plasma TV. Walmart makes money on the sale, Magnavox makes money because they are selling more TVs and the employees of Magnavox and Walmart are working and making money. Joe the plumber can now watch a Cleveland Browns game and everyone is happy.

Jane, the single mom, just got her 50 thousand dollar 2010 stimulus check. She’s happier than a pig in mud.  Jane needs a new car. She doesn’t want to spend her entire 50 thousand dollar economic stimulus check on a new car so she drops 5 grand down on a new GM car and finances the rest. In this example, GM is making and selling cars. GM employees are back to work. Credit is flowing again because the bank loaned Jane money for her car. The guys at the steel mill are making more steel for GM and the vendor that fills the vending machines at the steel mill is happy because people are buying the chips out of his machine.
It’s so simple. If you want to see it visually here is a chart. (Click on the image to enlarge it.)
thousand dollar stimulus check Are we getting a stimulus check in 2010?

So there you have it. Money flows, credit flows and most importantly the economy as a whole shifts into high gear all from a 50 thousand dollar a person stimulus check that the government CAN AFFORD.

Don’t like the plan? Like the plan? Comment on it!

  1. I think it a good idea because people will spend money I have no doubt about that. It would help so many people get things like their student loans paid snd get rid of some of their credit card debt. The $250 I got went to bills and there was nothing left. I mean even if they put the $50k on a debit card it’s still the same thing cause people will still spend it!!!!I know that trying to live on my income is a big joke because I don’t get enough money to pay my bills so I’m getting further into debt each month. If I had a chance to clear the debt with a fresh start that woukd be a great help.I don’t for see any one helping with such a large amount like that and I’m never going to get my hopes up on something of that nature.
Thanz for some place to put my thouhjts on this issue it’s been there for a good while now.

  2. If what people do with the money is pay off debt, it won’t benefit the economy, just the big banks that have already received hundreds of billions. Even so, reserving it just for the middle-class would be reprehensible and immoral.

  3. I love this idea!

  4. This is an absolutely terrible idea. As much as I would love to have $50K for doing nothing, have you ever heard of inflation? Circulating that much money into the hands of Americans would bring the value of the dollar down and make our economy weaker by not being able to compete on a global level with stronger international currencies. If it is used to pay down debt as an earlier person wrote, it will not stimulate the economy outside of the financial sector.

Sounds like a fun idea…but completely idiotic.

  5. our manufacturing industry is so dammaged some people need to change careers. another extension would help!

  6. i think it would be a good idea for working single parent rasieind children need the help.

  7. A good idea for single working families rasing kids on their own and need help like me . We need to get $50 to live. I like to buy a house but can not afford iot need somwhere to rasie my kids. It would come in handly.

  8. I wish they would do it it is a very good idea and would help alot

  9. i dont see how the government is even thinking about 50.000 when they moan and complain about no money for this no mopney for that, would i complain IF i got the $50.000? HELL NO!!!!!! i can buy things i need for me and my special needs child. but i dont think anyone will get the 50k.maybe if we are lucky we will get another $250.00.something has to change the economy is horrible and is only getting worse

  10. i don’t think it would give another $250.00 check since the goverment is giving away billions so rich peoplee can have thier very big bonuses

  11. Of course if people got 50,000 which the government can afford, no matter what they say, it would help people to spend and buy the things they would normally place on their credit cards instead and cause more debt. When we buy a car for example and pay cash for 25k everyone makes money and the economy gets better and the person does not have to finance the car since they paid cash, and they gat a car they can drive for at least 5 years or more

  12. In answer to your statement Mary, that’s not true. If you got a check from the Gov’t. for 50 grand, you would not only buy a car, but also buy new furniture, appliances, clothing,go out to eat at a few nice places,,which, in turn, helps the economy. Now, if only just a small perceantage of people buy the things I just mentioned, do you realize how many jobs can be saved and how many that would also create? Get a grip Mary, and the rest of you complainers!

  13. I agree, I think this would be a good idea, by giving it to the banks and automakers those are only 2 sectors of the problem, whereas, giving money to we/taxpapers we can circulate the money in many areas, to put people back to work, to feed our families, keep our homes, buy a vehicle, we the people have a better chance to see fit as to what our own indivual needs are for our families. Money is not the answer for everything, but we could all distribute money back into the market in everyway. Not to mention the stress relief if will offer to the everyday working man or woman. I think this is a good idea. If we don’t do something great soon, I feel all is going to turn into a war of survival!

  14. Actually paying off debt would still stimulate the economy because it means that much less debt that the individual has to pay out of their normal income toward debt and we all know that most people don’t pay 100% of their income toward clearing a debt so when you look at the ratio of the amount of money earned against their debt, when that debt decreases significantly or is wiped out using the 50,000 either some or all of the remaining income now becomes disposable income which is going to be used toward new purchases which in turn stimulates the economy.

  15. I have been unemployed since April of 2009. My credit sucks because of student loans and medical bills.

These are two things I would like to see not reported to the credit bureau.

I also came up with this idea of stimulating the economy when I saw the government give away billions to auto makers.

You can give all the money to the auto makers, it’s the PEOPLE that purchase the cars.
If people don’t have money, how are they going to buy a car?

Give the money to the people we’ll spend it on the businesses.

If each person got 50 grand, there wouldn’t be a NEED for social programs. You could eliminate all that waste for at least 2 years.

  16. where’s my money?

  17. I need a bell out really BAD!

  18. Tom,

$50k. Good idea. It’s a little too easy, though. Not enough paperwork to keep the 425 government employees needed to produce said paperwork employed.

    JL

  19. So tell all this to your state reps and get the message to Obama…

  20. It makes too much sence, therefore the government will not take this action.

  21. Dream on! this is PR talk…….you’ll never see it. Keep wishing.

  22. If they would have given us the people all the money that they gave all the big banks, auto companies, and big businesses the economy would have already rebounded because we would have spent it on necessities and wouldn’t throw big parties like the big executives did and pay out big extreme bonuses that they did to those CEO’s who ran the businesses in the hold to begin with. The so-called SMART people in this world are the ignorant ones. Ordinary people know how to budget because we do it every day and we get no thanks for it.

  23. A better idea would be to give out $10, 000 to everyone making 250K/yr or less.

  24. I THINK IT WOULD BE GET TO GET A 50,000 STIMULIS PEOPLE COULD GET OUT OF DEBT WHICH WOULD HELP OUT OUR ECONOMY

  25. This won’t happen……How will the rich keep getting richer if they help those of us truly in need of this money..many homes have already been lost and more are going into foreclosure such as mine…I to have a special needs child and let me tell ya it is so hard to keep up with everything when one is concentrating on caring for a VERY ill child..Cystic Fibrosis.

  26. This is an excellant idea! As a single parent who makes sure my child is well cared for, but struggling the whole way, I would do so much with 50k! Of course, as soon as I post this, I will put it out of mind and step back into reality. The reality is, it will not happen. Apparently, the “smart” ones who run this government think it’s a better idea to keep themselves and the upper class secure in their millions. Of course, they will help out other countries in need because it makes them look good to the world. The pour all this money into foreign aide and make it obvious how deeply they are truly concerned by not once turning their eye homeward. Besides, how can they look like the big wigs if we’re not SO far below them? It’s disgusting and it’s how this country is run!

  27. HOW CAN YOUR AVERAGE CITIZEN RESPOND TO SUCH FACTS OTHER THAN STATING “YOU ARE SO CORRECT”. IT HAS ALWAYS AMAZED ME HOW WE AS AMERICAN CITIZENS ARE ALWAYS FORCED TO GIVE OUR MONEY TOWARDS GOVERNMENTAL CAUSES BUT YOUR AVERAGE TAX PAYER IS STILL HAVING TO SETTLE FOR WHAT THEY WANT TO GIVE BACK TO US WHEN WHAT THEY TAKE IN FEDERAL INCOME TAX EVERY PAY PERIOD ALONE COULD PUT EVERY WORKING-CLASS CITIZEN IN A BETTER POSITION OVER A PERIOD OF TIME. WHO IS THINKING IN THE WHITE HOUSE OR IS IT A MEANS TO KEEP CERTAIN CITIZENS DOWN?

  28. $50K is too much, but what a great idea – returning money back to the people who have earned it to spend as they wish. But why stop there? I would like to have an economy that is always stimulated. Why don’t we do that every year? We could call it a tax cut.

  29. So, I guess if you are on Social Security with a disability you get crap cause you aren’t a working individual. Just another way of screwing the elderly as usual!

  30. It’s not just screwing the elderly. There are disabled parents that are still taking care of their minor children. They are totally cut of from any of the child credit/EIC. And regardless of what anybody says different. The disabled pay taxes too.

  31. Has everyone here forgotten about the 7 trillion dollar debt that our country already has? Where do you all expect the $50,000 to come from, thin air? If they mass produce that much money, it would depreciate in value like a rock falling from the sky! The government can’t just give away money like that. It’s insane. A true stimulus is money that you have already earned. Instead of it going to taxes, they just give it back to you. It’s not money that the government just gives you. Someone please tell me that you can understand a little bit about how the economy works, and stop worrying about getting yourself a bigger bank account.

  32. Great idea the people stimulate the economy not auto makers and banks. We need to some how present this idea to the president, before more money is wasted and or so that congress can’t vote anything remotely promising down as usual.
