Obama’s Stimulus Package – How Much Is The Stimulus Check?
There is no definitive number on the amount of the 2009 Stimulus Check. Realistically, we could expect a 2009 stimulus check between 800 and 1000 dollars.
But what is a 2009 stimulus check really going to for you? Could you make your house payment? Could you possibly pay 2 months for rent with that 2009 stimulus check?
A 2009 stimulus check for a thousand isn’t really going to do anything to stimulate the economy.
The ultimate solution and ultimate dollar amount for a 2009 stimulus check would be 50,000, yes fifty grand. I know this may sound ridiculous, but with this amount you would stimulate the economy in no time.

Personally, I agree with this, but the checks should be more, or include all working families of the middle- and low-class . As this global recession (depression) continues to get worse, it proves that the consumer, not big business, are the ones that control the economy now. Giving corporations money, no matter how they spend it – and regardless of the fact I disagree with their spending tactics now – does not create economic growth.
Giving a corporation money does not help me pay my mortgage. Give me the money to do that, and the banks win, as well. Middle-class that can't afford to buy a new home might do that now, and the housing market wins. Many will get rid of their junkers and buy a new car, and the auto industry wins.
I could buy that new HD TV to keep up with the times, and the electronics industry wins.
What good is a corporate bailout? Honestly, what good has it done? They're asking for more to keep their pockets lined, yet the economy is still suffering and more jobs are being lost each day – AROUND THE WORLD, not just here. Even if they used it the right way, how does making goods that consumers can't afford to buy help anyone?
Bail me out. My family can barely afford to eat, forget about paying bills. I would use a bailout like this to pay off part of my mortgage and put some in savings. I would help the banking industry. I would pay my bills, buy food, a new TV and a better vehicle. I would save and spend – helping the world. Corporations are only helping themselves.
I also agree with the $50,000 stimulus check for the lower and middle class. That is the only way that my family of four could afford to put money into the economy. I too would use it to by a new car from GM and come up to date with my bills. I could even afford to get the new TV, and a few things my kids want.
If we keep giving the bulk of the money to these corperations and banks, my family and others I know, will barely be getting by. Then were does that leave us?
50,000 is fine but people on ss also should receive it after all who do you think has kept the country afloat for the last 50 or 60 years.
My so called stimulus check for under 13 dollars a week is not going to be spent I will keep it hidden in a can! when it reaches its so called mark it will not be spent on anything! I would rather not spend and enjoy watching the system fold until the people of the United States standup and say NO MORE!!!
I also think 50k would be helpful. People could pay down their mortgages and credit cards and that would free up our credit then all the banks could pay back their govt debt. Seriously, the money the govt threw into the banks is dumb. Now the banks are so tight giving money to people with good credit and investors. Really is it our fault that their are crooked people out their that put innocent buyers in trouble so they can get their billions in bonuses. I think they should make the house payments of people they screwed over. Since ya know they are rich…
I think giving every working taxpayer at least $30,000 in a stimulus check would be better not only for the people who work and have families, but also to the government. If you compared what the government has shelled out to mortgage companies, banks, and so forth in billions of dollars to what the government could pay to the tax paying people of this country which is about 300 million, not only would they be better off in the long run, and the people would stimulate the economy back to where it should be and not relying on corporate companies to help. If any right-minded citizen thinks that giving money to corporate companies is going to help them pay their bills their wrong. We the people, need to stand up for what is right and stop the childish games of popularity contests and do whats right for our country.
I think you are right!!! Why would you give the big people all that damn money just to pay off thier bills and still fuck over the money and I know some of the is putting that money in thier pocket!! But the right is to give that money low class people who will send the money right and all this will be over!! I know alot of people need things they can’t buy right now like a car, home, schooling,!! They don’t know if they give us the money the economy will be back right in no time!! We all should have voted on this !!!
I think they should reward people who actually stimulate the economy by giving them tax benefits. You should be able to get percentage of such purchases (automobile and house purchases, and any other item over $1,000) as a tax credit. I think this would encourage many people to spend now.
